It’s Almost Camp Time!

Greetings from the campus of Tennessee Bible College where we’re enjoying the last days of a beautiful spring.

For the past 19 years, we’ve ended our academic year with great optimism. Those are the years our academic schedule has closed with Truth Bible Camp on campus for a week. The camp brings new life to our campus and new energy each year! We enjoy the company of some wonderful boys and girls who are entrusted to us for a week of training in the Lord. These children encourage us and challenge us, keeping us focused on the future of the Lord’s church. For the past 19 years, I’ve ended the school year renewed in hope.

The director of the camp, Mark Day, is a former camper. He is one of several who have attended camp and gone on to attend TBC, and who are now in the field preaching and teaching the Gospel of Christ. Mark was chosen twice as the Most Christlike Camper by his peers. He has grown into a very accomplished preacher of the Gospel and a tremendous director. Mark preaches for the Flatwoods Church of Christ in Flatwoods, Kentucky. He and his wife, Alissa, have two children.

Summer camp is a rite of passage for many kids. It is very common for children to attend summer camp of some kind, but Truth Bible Camp is structured differently even than most Bible camps. Our camp is designed to orient young men and women in knowledge with experience of preparing and delivering a Bible lesson. The hope is that it will empower them by letting them see that they indeed can preach and teach a Bible lesson. Our faculty works with each camper to introduce them to study tools that will help them. Each camper prepares a lesson and delivers it during the week, and along the way, as kids will always do, they have a lot of fun!

We welcome this year’s campers to campus, and say thank you to dads and moms for entrusting them to us. Thank you to the children for bringing such joy to our campus as we end 2016-2017.

-David Hill, President of Tennessee Bible College
